|Block Print of Cyan Ming|
This is a story I have wanted to tell for some time. I plan to do a piece of art work to go with it, but lest the idea is lost, let me explain the inspiration for the art piece. I created the block print above a long time ago of a female from our first litter, who we named Ming. It seemed fitting since she was blue and white like the porcelain. The bamboo in our yard just fit her.
A few years ago and we had a very heavy snow which bent over the bamboo. This time the dogs first made fun tunnels and then were caught, after a few days, crouching and walking over the top of it into the garden on the inside of the circle and outside into our fenced yard. I was looking out the window wishing I had a camera. They had climbed up on the bamboo as it was bent over, like below, and were crouching to keep their balance. Instinctively I recalled the movie "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon". The scene where the actors are suspended in the bamboo fighting. There my female Afghan Hounds Pixel, Zulu, and Zuni were precariously walking on the bamboo accentuating their oriental aesthetic, crouching, catlike, slinking over the bamboo.
